JUMPING SOMEONE ELSE'S TRAIN

It's been commented that sadness on hearing announcements of a body under a tube train has been superseded by the deeper sadness of desensitisation that these announcements are becoming so common place that they are accepted as part of everyday occurrence. That's a lot of messed up lives and a lot of messed up drivers.

Movin' on up, Shake it back down
I'm heading straight down to the underground
And the radio is buzzing "Give me some lovin'"
Give me some fucking ventolin
The temperature's rising, feel the heat, take the strain
Crazy people bumping, always jumping some train
Better take it easy, this place is hot
This place is alive, a fourth-rail shock

Your whole life flashes by the driver's eyes
There's another hit-tally on the driver's cab side
Drop the dead man's handle, I never knew your name
You're jumping under someone else's train

The temperature's rising, feel the beat going round
This is the sound of the Underground
And the radio is buzzing "give me some lovin'"
Give me some fucking ventolin
Head is spinning but it's running to time
Nothing's gonna keep me from the yellow line
It's been a hard day, nothing went good
It never goes good, who said it would?

Your whole life flashes by the driver's eyes
There's another hit-tally on the driver's cab side
Drop the dead man's handle, I never knew your name
You're jumping under someone else's train
Your whole life flashes by the driver's eyes
There's another hit-tally on the driver's cab side
No one's gonna get to their work on time
There's the wrong kind of body stuck on the line
It takes you there but you won't come back again
Jumping under someone else's train
Jumping under someone else's train
Jumping under someone else's train
La la la la la la la....
